Luis Manuel García González holds a degree in classical guitar from the Salvador Seguí Conservatory of Music in Castellón. In addition, he taught at the Luthier Academy of Music in Barcelona, and Master Class with Piero Bonaguri, Carles Trepat, and Jose Tomás. Throughout his career he has had the opportunity to study with composers such as Jaume Torrent, Emilio Calandín, Alejandro Civilotti, or Ana Cazurra, having also enjoyed the opportunity to have among his instrument professors Sergi Vicente, Sadahiro Otani, Dra. Isabel Agut, Manuel González and Dalibor Majdenic among others. As a performer he has participated in different classical guitar festivals of the Spanish geography, such as Festival Fortea, Semana Tárrega, Guitar Classical Festival of Vallirana... As a composer he has more than fifty works including concertos for guitar and orchestra, preludes, sonatas, threesomes, suites, duets, studios, etc. He is currently a professor of classical guitar at the Conservatori de Music dels Pirineus, in La Seu d'Urgell, the Municipal School of Music of Vallirana, and the Schools of Music Ricomà and Fills of Barcelona. Master in Philosophy from the Ramon Llull University of Barcelona, he is also founder and director of the Vallirana International Classical Guitar Festival, and is a doctoral student in Music - Composition at the University of Aveiro (Portugal).

Doctoral Project

The concerts for guitar and orchestra of Mauro Giuliani as an example of a genre update on the 21st century
This research aims to provide a new perspective on the possibilities of the compositional techniques of the romantic classical period applied in the current composition, taking as a fundamental example the concertos for guitar and orchestra of Mauro Giuliani. To this end, an in-depth investigation of the different aspects that require an extension of current compositional approaches, based on a theoretical analysis of the compositional evolution of the concert genre to guitar and orchestra, the concert genre, the process of general compositional evolution from the classical period to the present day, and a practical section that includes the composition of a concerto for guitar and orchestra in the romantic classical style, its premiere, and a statistics on different points of it.
