Organized by the Centro de Investigação em Música Electroacústica da Universidade de Aveiro (CIME), the Instituto de Etnomusicologia - Centro de Estudos em Música e Dança (INET-MD) and Arte no Tempo, this event will take place at the Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Aveiro and at the Auditório da Reitoria da Universidade de Aveiro, between 16 and 20 September.
Focusing on the composers John Chowning (1934), Jean-Claude Risset (1938) and Daria Semegen (1946), the EAW 2015 will be attended by guest speakers Ludger Brümmer, Michael Iber, António Sousa Dias, Luis Antunes Pena, Flo Menezes, Alexander Mihalic and Miguel Azguime, covering the areas of Synthesis, Spatial Distribution, Composition and Noise, Sound and Image, Algorithmic Composition and Interpretation and Preservation in Live Electronics.
The congress will be complemented by a set of training and showcasing activities, such as five mixed music and pure electronics concerts, with the participation of soprano Maureen Chowning and musicians Henry Portovedo, Pedro Rodrigues and Monika Streitová.
