'Des/encontros' is the name of the project that proposes a problematization of colonial memory through musical creation. This project will give rise to a series of concerts presented by the Borealis Ensemble, with the participation of members of the Center for Studies in Music and Dance (INET-md) of the University of Aveiro (UAveiro) and the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. The concerts take place during the month of June.

This project proposes a problematization of colonial memory through musical creation, revisiting repertoires from the Estado Novo period, marked by the construction of an "exotic" sound imaginary and artistic reflection on encounters between this imaginary and new visions of musical creation.

The concerts will start in the beginning of June and will pass through several cities in the country. Part of the itinerary is the University of Aveiro, which hosts one of the concerts on June 12th, at 6pm, at the Department of Communication and Art Auditorium (DeCA).

The works presented are by Ana Seara, Carlos Caires, Nuno Peixoto de Pinho (Inet-md researcher) and Sara Carvalho (Inet-md researcher).
