Resumo (apenas em inglês):
This article analyzes the interplay between music/dance and hookup activities (or engate) in Lisbon’s gay nightlife, particularly in Finalmente Club. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork conducted between 2011 2013 and in 2023, and a theoretical framework informed by performance studies and symbolic interactionism, I aim to explore the discursive repertoire of bodily behavior related to sex and sexuality within gay nightclubs. This article posits hooking up as performance as a privileged vehicle for understanding the communication of sexual identities through dance.
