CfP: In-Between: Digital and Technological Performativities in the Arts
Digital and technological practices increasingly shape the ways in which artistic work is created, performed, taught, and experienced, inviting us to rethink established boundaries between bodies, technologies, instruments, and environments.
It is within this rapidly evolving landscape that the coordinators of INET-md’s Thematic Line “Digital and Technological Performativities” propose to explore the “in-between” as a space of encounter, experimentation, and critical reflection, by issuing a call for chapters for the peer-reviewed e-book In-Between: Digital and Technological Performativities in the Arts, due to be published in the INET-md collection of UA Editora (Portugal). The book emerges from the lively discussions and reflections that took place during the First International Colloquium on Digital and Technological Performativities, held on 5-6 November 2025 at the Department of Communication and Art of the University of Aveiro (UA); it is now open to the wider research community, with a view to deepening and extending those discussions.
We therefore warmly invite you to read the call and to consider submitting a chapter that falls within its scope and topics. Contributions are welcome from all researchers whose work engages with the themes set out in the call.
Review process
All chapters will undergo double-blind peer review. Publication is conditional on the outcome of the review process and the final decision of the editors.

Notification of review results: April 30, 2027
Submission of revised versions: June 15, 2027
