Hugo Paquete selected as Junior Researcher under the CEEC Individual Call – 7th Edition
Hugo Paquete took office at the INET-md centre located at the University of Aveiro, after being selected for the position of Junior Researcher, within the scope of the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus – 7th Edition (CEEC Individual), with the project entitled “AI as Catalyst: Transformative Impacts on Digital Performance, Computer Music, and Cultural Creativity”.
The project, which runs from 2026 to 2029 and is funded by FCT, investigates the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Digital Performance and Computer Music. The research is based on the premise that AI is not merely a tool but a catalyst that reconfigures contemporary artistic creation, challenging the boundary between human and non-human agency through the concept of the AI-Chimera: a hybrid creative entity that emerges from collaboration between the artist and intelligent systems.
In collaboration with national and international partners, the project affirms the role of sound art as critical thinking about technology, perception, and agency in the 21st century.
