Six INET-md researchers selected in the 8th edition of the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus Call
Six researchers associated with INET-md have been selected in the provisional results of the 8th edition of the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus Call (CEEC Individual), announced by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) on 30 September 2026.
Filipe Soares and Leonor Losa were selected in the Junior Researcher category, while Iracema Almeida, Javier Rodríguez Aedo, Juliana Pérez-González and Rodrigo Chocano were selected in the Assistant Researcher category.
This achievement is particularly significant given the highly competitive nature of the call. According to FCT, a total of 2,956 applications were evaluated, of which 400 were provisionally selected for funding, representing a selection rate of approximately 13.5%. The scientific evaluation process involved 32 panels comprising 428 reviewers.
The CEEC Individual programme is one of Portugal’s main instruments for promoting scientific employment. It supports the recruitment of PhD researchers and provides opportunities to develop research careers within Portuguese research institutions. This edition provides for 243 Junior Researcher and 157 Assistant Researcher contracts, with FCT funding for a maximum period of three years.
The selection of these six applications represents a significant achievement for INET-md, reflecting both the scientific quality of the researchers involved and the Institute’s capacity to host and foster research across different fields of music, sound and cultural studies.
The selected researchers bring diverse academic trajectories that connect with several of INET-md’s core research areas, including ethnomusicology, music history and cultural studies, relationships between music and society, the transnational circulation of musical practices, sound archives and memory, as well as interdisciplinary approaches to acoustic and musical phenomena.
The potential implementation of these research contracts will provide opportunities to consolidate existing research strands, develop new perspectives and strengthen the Institute’s national and international scientific collaborations.
INET-md warmly congratulates all six researchers on this achievement and welcomes the recognition of the scientific merit of their applications.
The announced results remain provisional. The signing of the employment contracts will depend on the publication of the final results and the completion of the administrative and contractual procedures established by FCT.
