INET-md joined the 10th National Climate Justice Summit
On 22 February, INET-md joined the organizers of the 10th National Climate Justice Summit to host one of the event’s parallel sessions, as part of the thematic line Power, Politics and Activism, which aimed to discuss the interrelationship between music and dance in climate activism, as well as defining strategies and concrete actions to mobilise artistic practices in the mitigation of climate change.

Entitled “Listening to Ancestral Narratives: Performance and Climate Activism in the Contemporary World”, this session brought together around twenty people, and was organized and moderated by Rita Santos, a researcher at INET-md pursuing her PhD at NOVA FCSH, featuring Mili Vizcaíno, a researcher at CESEM and PhD candidate at the University of Évora, with an ongoing thesis on ecomusicological activism in the Iberian Peninsula.
At the end of the session, which took place at Luís de Camões Secondary School in Lisbon, and before participants moved on to other working sessions of the summit, those keen to continue the dialogue exchanged contact details so they could share notes and ideas for future collaboration.
This event was partly supported by national funds through the FCT – Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., as part of project UID/00472/2025 – Institute of Ethnomusicology – Centre for Studies in Music and Dance (INET-md).
