INET-md researcher joins the European Academy of Sciences

Susana Sardo, researcher at INET-md and Pro-Vice-Rector for Culture at the University of Aveiro, is the first Portuguese scholar to be elected to the Social Sciences and Humanities Division of the European Academy of Sciences

Internationally recognised for her work, Susana Sardo has made notable contributions to ethnomusicology, cultural heritage, music and sound archives, and postcolonial studies. She is now a member of the European Academy of Sciences, within the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Throughout her research career, she has promoted significant advances in the understanding of music as cultural heritage, with a particular focus on Goa, the Portuguese-speaking world and the preservation and interpretation of intangible cultural heritage through sound archives
