INET-md at the EcoFestival Montejunto
Andrew Snyder and Daniel Tércio participated in the official opening of Ecofestival de Montejunto in a roundtable including Mili Vascaíno (CESEM/UÉ), one of the founders and organizers of the festival, moderated by Maria Ilhéu (MED/UÉ).
Mili’s applied research, developed within her PhD at the University of Évora, focuses on the emergence of ecofestivals in the Iberian peninsula. Andrew’s participation in the debate included a presentation of his coedited book Festival Activism, and Daniel participated as founder of the Festival Silvestre.
The resulting conversation considered the activism of the ecofestival movement, bringing together academics, festival organizers, and festival participants in considering how ecofestivals might contribute to creating alternative festival models that militate for the good of the natural environment and for a sustainable model of humanity’s relationship to the earth.
