Abstract This research intends to explore the confluence between Jazz and Western art music, presenting new approaches and strategies for musical creation/composition. The research will explore theories and procedures generally associated with improvisation, arranging and composition in jazz as a means of connecting the two musical genres from a stylistic standpoint.
