Éric Lana

PhD in Music from the University of Aveiro (2024), specialising in Choral Conducting, under the supervision of Professor António Vassalo Lourenço, with co-supervision by Dr Clarissa Foletto and Dr Guilherme Campos. Master’s degree in Education from the Universidade Vale do Rio Verde (2011), supervised by Professor Eliane Marta Santos Teixeira Lopes and co-supervised by Professor Mónica Yumi Jinzenji. Bachelor’s degree in Music (Music Education) from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (2005). Between 2008 and 2010, he taught Recorder, Aural Training, and Arranging as a substitute lecturer at the Department of Music of the Federal University of Ouro Preto. Since 2003, he has been Principal Conductor, Artistic Director, and Pedagogical Coordinator of the Canarinhos de Itabirito Cultural Association. He is also Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Ouro Preto Youth Orchestra at the Padre Simões School of Music. His research focuses on children’s and youth choral and orchestral conducting, rehearsal strategies, pedagogical approaches, music education history, and musical perception.
