Erato Alakiozidou
Greek pianist, artistic researcher, cultural organizer, and entrepreneur whose work operates at the intersection of contemporary music performance, artistic research, and interdisciplinary creation. Her practice is grounded in performance as an active mode of inquiry, with a strong emphasis on contemporary repertoire, collaborative creation, and the social and cultural dimensions of artistic practice.
She has premiered more than 150 works by Greek and international composers, many of which were written and dedicated to her, and maintains an extensive international performance activity as a soloist and chamber musician. Her repertoire is primarily oriented towards 20th- and 21st-century music. Her discography includes recordings released by Da Vinci Records, Odradek Records, Protasis, Ankh Productions, and Subways Productions, reflecting a long-term engagement with contemporary music and performer–composer collaboration.
Alakiozidou holds a Diploma in Piano Performance with unanimous distinction from the Thessaloniki State Conservatory, advanced diplomas in Harmony, Counterpoint, and Fugue, and a Diplôme Supérieur du Piano (Premier Prix) from the Conservatoire de Villepinte in Paris. Alongside her artistic activity, she has developed extensive experience in higher music education, institutional leadership, and international project coordination.
She is the founder and artistic director of several long-standing initiatives dedicated to contemporary music and artistic creation, including the Music Diaries International Workshop Festival and the international contemporary music festival and composition competition Synthermia. Through these initiatives, she has actively contributed to the design, production, and sustainability of artistic projects, combining curatorial vision with cultural entrepreneurship and organizational responsibility.
Since 2022, she has been a PhD candidate in Artistic Creation at the University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Jorge Salgado Correia. Her doctoral research is situated within the field of artistic research and creation and examines artistic practice as a site of knowledge production, focusing on the relationship between performance, identity, and place.

Abstract
This doctoral project examines artistic creation as a process of reconstructing shared identities through musical performance and interdisciplinary practice. Situated within artistic research, it approaches performance as a form of knowledge production, integrating sound, image, memory, and place. The project introduces Postcard Identity Mapping as a methodological framework that combines performance, audiovisual material, and reflective narration, emphasizing emotional geography, embodiment, and intercultural dialogue.
