Title The Dimensions of Experience as a tool to evaluate audience engagement in gaming concerts

Advisor Sara Carvalho

Coorientação Gilberto Bernardes Almeida

Abstract The history of contemporary Western music is marked by great transformations; One of them is the growing number of collaborative concerts, making the audience increasingly present in the process of creating a musical work. This investigation aims to evaluate the incidence of “Dimensions of Experience” (aesthetics, education, entertainment and escapist) in collaborative concerts with works written in the structure of board games, created using the Unity game development tool. The interaction between the public and the musical work will be through digital platforms in real time. The empirical investigation will be based on a collection of data on the individual and collective experience of each participant. Through the results, we intend to validate the four dimensions of the public’s experience in each work and define a theoretical framework on the levels of public involvement in this context, which will be disseminated through a Theoretical-Practical e-book.
