André Roque Cardoso

Biography

André Roque Cardoso began his piano studies at the “Dr. José de Azeredo Perdigão” Music Conservatory in Viseu, where he worked with Rosgard Lingardsson, and later at the University of Aveiro, with Vitali Dotsenko. After graduating, he joined the École Normale de Musique de Paris, where he worked with Guigla Katsarava, obtaining the “Diplôme d’Execution”, “Diplôme Supérieur d’Execution”, “Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste” and “Certificat de Perfectionnement”. He performed at numerous festivals, solo, with orchestra and in various chamber music formations. As a pedagogue, he regularly gives piano masterclasses and is currently a professor at the Art School of the Coimbra Music Conservatory.

This research project aims to identify, characterize and perform the piano repertoire for the left hand written by portuguese composers. This is a doctoral dissertation in performance that includes the musicological and performative components.
