Nery Borges and Helena Marinho, members of INET-md, together with Mário Vairinhos (DigiMedia), Isabel Souto, Marcos Araújo and Anabela Pereira (CIEP), are the authors of the article “Development and Perceptual Validation of an Optical See-Through Augmented Reality Paradigm for Performance Simulation Research in Music“, published in the Journal of New Music Research.
This study developed and validated an Augmented Reality tool that simulates a music assessment panel using virtual assessors projected onto the HoloLens 2. The paradigm enables listening and assessment situations to be recreated in a controlled and ecologically plausible manner, opening up new possibilities for investigating performance anxiety in music, the perception of social cues and self-regulation processes in musicians.
