Susana Moreno Fernández

Biography

She is a tenured associate professor in the Department of Musicology at the University of Valladolid (Spain), where she earned her Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the INET-MD Institute of Ethnomusicology at NOVA University Lisbon between 2007 and 2010, with grants from the MEC-Fulbright program and the Foundation for Science and Technology. She is the author of several publications in Spanish, English, and Portuguese on musical instruments, traditions, and cultural processes in the Iberian Peninsula. She has participated in and served as Principal Investigator on several funded research projects. She is president of the Study Group on Musical Traditions of SIbE-Sociedad de Etnomusicología, which is the Spanish Committee of the ICTMD-International Council for Traditional Music and Dance.
