Abstract:
The practice of cante alentejano has resisted the challenges of a rural society in permanent transformation, in the progressive tension between the local and the global. With this text I intend to contribute to the debate about the resignification of musical heritage, based on the questioning of power relationships and the resistances associated to the institutionalization of intangible cultural heritage.
