Abstract
Da Terra e do Mar explores imaginaries and concepts associated with territorial and cultural divisions through musical creation and interpretation. The project addresses these themes by proposing new ways of representing territory through music and questioning geographical and political-cultural polarities in their symbolic and artistic representation, in connection with issues shaping the present.
These include emerging questions and challenges related to sustainability, social inclusion, migration, territorial and environmental desertification. The creative work will be developed through a residency involving the Borealis Ensemble, comprising António Carrilho, Henrique Portovedo, Helena Marinho and Nuno Aroso, and composers Eduardo Patriarca, Hugo Vasco Reis, Inés Badalo and Sara Carvalho. The resulting work will form the basis for a range of public activities and presentations in 2027.
