“Models and training paths of professional musicians active in Lisbon between the second half of the 18th century and the beginning of the 20th century”, by Cristina Fernandes (INET-md) and Joaquim Carmelo Rosa (ESML | CESEM) is part of the cycle of monthly seminars of the project PROFMUS – To be a musician in Portugal: the social and professional condition of musicians in Lisbon (1750-1985), financed by FCT (PTDC/ART-PER/32624/2017). Aspects of training will be addressed at major schools (Real Patriarchal Music Seminar, the Conservatory, among others), but also in other institutions, passing through informal education inside and outside the family context, as well as some case studies. Professional/amateur ambiguity in the context of musical life will also be considered, taking into account the training modalities and subsequent careers.
