The Institute de Ethnomusicology – Centre for Studies in Music and Dance is involved in organizing the Encontro da Canção de Protesto ’26: “Onde o Vento Cortou Amarras” (Encounter of Protest Song ’26: “Where the Wind Cut the Ropes”), held in Grândola, with the support of radio broadcast Antena 1, by the local Municipality and by the Observatório da Canção de Protesto (Observatory of the Protest Song), which gathers INET-md, CESEM, IHC, Associação José Afonso and Sociedade Musical Fraternidade Operária Grandolense.
From the program, we highlight the participation of Hugo Castro, researcher of INET-md and the EXIMUS project, in the presentation of the book Unearthing the Music: Footnotes to Sonic Resistance in Non-democratic Europe (1950-2000), scheduled for June 6, at 4:45 pm, at Cineteatro Grandolense.
We also highlight the testimonial session “Embalar a Trouxa e Zarpar”, organized in partnership with EXIMUS, to be held on June 7, by 11 am, at the same Cineteatro Grandolense, featuring Haneen Sabbah, Rui Mota and Tino Flores, and moderated by Ivan Lima.
