Call for Expressions of Interest: Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus – 8th Edition

The Institute of Ethnomusicology – Centre for Studies in Music and Dance (INET-md) welcomes, until December 19^th, expressions of interest for applications to the 8^th Edition of the Individual Call fo Scientific Employment Stimulus of Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, being available to act as host institution for projects to be submitted in the areas of:

Its six Research Groups:

• Ethnomusicology and Popular Music Studies;
• Historical and Cultural Studies in Music;
• Dance Studies;
• Creation, Performance, and Artistic Research;
• Education, Music, and Theatre in the Community;
• Musical Acoustics and Sound Studies.

Its four Thematic Lines, recently created to articulate synergies in strategic areas:

• Heritage(s), Archives and Museums;
• Studies on Women, Gender and Sexuality;
• Power, Politics and Activism;
• Digital and Technological Performativities.

How to submit and expression of interest

INET-md is composed by four branches, each one integrated in a different higher education institution, with its own facilities and administrative services: the School of Social and Human Sciences of NOVA University Lisbon (NOVA FCSH), the Department of Communication and Art of the University of Aveiro (DeCa-UA), the Faculty of Human Kinetics of the University of Lisbon (FMH-ULisboa), and the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ESE-P.Porto).

Each of these branches will have its own procedures of monitoring and submitting applications, so one should send its expression of interest to the contact person at the branch one wish to apply with:

The expression of interest should include:

1. Name and date of obtaining the doctoral degree;
2. Detailed curriculum vitae, if possible with a link to the profile at Ciência Vitae portal:
3. Title (even if provisional) of the project to be submitted to the call and a summary of the work plan (in English, with a maximum of 500 words);
4. Letter of motivation clearly outlining your scientific career and main achievements of the last 5 years, as well as the relevance of your proposal to the areas of work of INET-md (not applicable to researchers already integrated into INET-md);
5. Copy of one relevant publication (in .pdf file).
