The Permanent Seminar of the Performance, Creation and Artistic Research Group, in collaboration with Arte no Tempo, presents two papers dedicated to the career and artistic practice of percussionist Nuno Aroso and composer Oscar Bianchi. Both artists are part of the program for the current edition of Reencontros de Música Contemporânea, taking place at Teatro Aveirense.

Nuno Aroso | Recognized as one of the leading interpreters of contemporary music of his generation, Nuno Aroso has dedicated himself to the percussive repertoire of the 21st century, collaborating with numerous composers and artists from other fields. He has premiered more than 120 works, many of which he has recorded himself, and performs regularly in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. As a soloist or artistic director, he invests in the renewal of the concert as a multidisciplinary experience. He is a member of the groups Turbamulta, Ruído Vermelho, Oficina Musical and collaborates with the Remix Ensemble. He co-directs the Limina project and created Clamat, a collective based in Portugal that brings together performance, research and teaching specializing in percussion. He holds a doctorate in Music from the Portuguese Catholic University, teaches at the University of Minho, collaborates with the University of Aveiro and Musikex (Spain), and conducts classes and masterclasses at leading institutions around the world. He is a researcher at INET-md, where he studies the narrative of percussive gesture and contemporary music.
Oscar Bianchi | Born in Milan and with dual Italian and Swiss nationality, Oscar Bianchi completed his studies in composition, choral conducting and electronic music at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. He continued his training in composition, attending master’s programs such as IRCAM – Centre Pompidou, and obtained a doctorate from Columbia University in New York, under the guidance of Tristan Murail.
