School of Education, Polytechnic of Porto

The Polytechinc Institute of Porto (IPP) was created in 1985 with the aim of offering higher education of excellence. IPP is the largest polytechnic higher education institution in the country, both in terms of the number of students, teachers, courses and schools. The result is a very diverse offer of training profiles, socio-economic contexts, goals, extension activities and geographical implementation – seven schools in six municipalities in the district of Porto. More than 18,000 students attend these seven schools, which offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Arts, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Management and Music, as well as a PhD program in Education. IPP has more than two dozen research groups based in its seven schools, as well as the largest number of research units recognized by the Foundation for Science and Technology, which develop projects in close collaboration with the business community in its area of influence and national and international organizations.
