The NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities is Portugal’s largest and most diverse higher education institution in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Faculty covers the areas of Communication Sciences and Languages, Artistic and Literary Studies, Philosophy, History and Archaeology, Anthropology, Demography, Geography, Sociology, Political Studies and International Relations, as well as the various intersections between these disciplines.

NOVA FCSH is home to 16 research units and inter-university centers, 13 of which are funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). The Faculty strives for excellence in teaching and research, both nationally and internationally, with a clear focus on innovation and interdisciplinarity.
