The Institute of Ethnomusicology – Centre for Studies in Music and Dance (INET-md) celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025. Originally conceived as a research center focused on ethnomusicology, INET-md has since become a crossroads of various disciplines, bringing together the arts, humanities, and sciences in the study of music and dance.

The 10th INET-md Forum, under the theme “Commemorating Camilo and (Re)thinking Artistic Research, Authorships, and Authority,” will consist of lectures and discussion panels.

The lecture “Camilo as a Music Critic” will be delivered by Rui Vieira Nery (INET-md), while Eduardo Simões (Fundação Gestão dos Direitos dos Artistas) will discuss issues related to copyright.

These sessions will be complemented by two panels for discussion and critical reflection. The first will focus on artistic creation and scientific research, featuring interventions by Cecília de Lima (Dance), Cláudia Marisa (Theatre), António Silva (Visual Arts), and Sara Carvalho (Music), and will be moderated by Filipe Lopes. The second panel, moderated by Daniel Tércio and Graça Mota (INET-md Ethics Committee), will include contributions from representatives of INET-md’s research groups.

Organizing Committee: Adelina Correia, Daniel Tércio, Filipe Lopes, Graça Mota, Graça Palheiros, Jorge Alexandre Costa, and Rosa Barros.

This event is funded by national funds through FCT – Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., within the scope of the project UID 00472 – INET-md – Institute of Ethnomusicology – Centre for Studies in Music and Dance.
