In 2027, INET-md, in collaboration with CESEM, will host the 22nd Biennial International Conference on Baroque Music. This will be the first time that this important scientific meeting on 17th- and 18th-century music, which regularly attracts scholars and musicians from around the world, will be held in Portugal. The 2027 edition will take place in the Royal Building of Mafra, UNESCO World Heritage, using spaces provided to the two research centers on music of NOVA FCSH by the Mafra Municipality and in collaboration with the National Museum of Music. The proposal was presented by Cristina Fernandes, coordinator of the Historical and Cultural Studies in Music research group at INET-md, and Andrew Wooley, from CESEM, during the 2025 conference at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and was selected by the participants with a majority of votes.
