Filipe Lopes wins 1st prize in the PROMOVE+ competition

As part of the PROMOVE+ competition, an initiative of the Pedagogical Innovation Center of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, the project “In the Name of Nature,” submitted by researcher Filipe Lopes, was awarded first prize, worth €5,000.

The project “In the Name of Nature” proposes a set of multifaceted activities involving direct experience of and in the natural world. Fieldwork will be carried out in natural environments (e.g., forest, mountains, ocean), engaging intellectual, academic, and emotional dimensions through in situ artistic practices. The project aims to explore the power of the Arts in shaping an Education that prepares people not only for analytical, quantitative, and abstract thinking.

The effects of these activities will later be studied in both school settings and non-formal education contexts.
