Objectives
The main objective of the Cycle of Studies Leading to the Degree of Doctor in Human Kinetics is to produce knowledge by carrying out original research in this area, from a fundamental or applied perspective.
With the award of the Doctorate in Human Kinetics, students must:
- Demonstrate systematic knowledge in one of the areas of Human Kinetics (Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Sports and Exercise Psychology, Motor Development and Learning, Human Factors and Ergonomics, Dance, Rehabilitation, Sports Training, Sociology and Sports Management, Physical Activity and Health) and master the research techniques and methods associated with this area;
- Demonstrate the ability to conceive, design and carry out significant research in Human Kinetics;
- Produce, through original research, a contribution that expands the frontier of knowledge in Human Kinetics, and that is recognised by the publication of the results of this research in international journals with scientific arbitration;
- Present skills that allow them to be integrated into different professional or academic contexts as promoters of progress and holders of high specialisation.
A Doctor in Human Kinetics must also be able to communicate with their peers and society in general about their area of specialisation, and to promote, in academic and professional contexts, scientific, social and cultural advancement in a knowledge-based society.
