CD | In Parasceve
The CD In Parasceve, by the Real Câmara Baroque Orchestra under musical direction by Enrico Onofri, with the modern première of the Responsories for Good Friday by José Joaquim dos Santos, was released on the Passacaille label last March.
Real Câmara, founded in 2021 and based in Lisbon, has as artistic directors Marta Vicente, double bassist and Diana Vinagre, cellist and researcher at INET-md, counting the project with the participation of other members of INET-md, such as Fernando Miguel Jalôto, organist, and César Nogueira, violetist, being the notes to the CD authored by Cristina Fernandes, coordinator of the RG Historical and Cultural Studies in Music.
This recording aims to be a contribution to the recovery of the composer’s work, namely in the repertoire of Portuguese tradition of orchestral writing without violins and with concertantes violas for the Holy Week, in which José Joaquim dos Santos was prolific.
