Biography

Ana Paula Peters is a professor at the Universidade Estadual do Paraná (UNESPAR – campus Curitiba I – EMBAP), Brazil, where she is involved in the degree in Music – teaching Music History and Flute Practice, and in the post-graduation programme in Music at the Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR), in the research line Music Education and Cognition. Her research interests include Brazilian popular music, sound archives, phonographic industry and musical practice and possibilities of teaching choro in the classroom. She is the author of the book "Nas trilhas do choro" (2016), published by the Programa de Apoio e Incentivo à Cultura da Fundação Cultural de Curitiba and the Prefeitura de Curitiba. In 2013, the book collection “Além das notas: música”, a music education collection for primary education (1st to 5th grade), was a finalist in the Jabuti Award, in the textbooks and educational materials category. She also organized the books “Reflexões e experiências para a educação em música e artes visuais (Pibid) - Caderno 1 (2015)”, with Vivian Letícia B. Marques and “PIBID e a formação de professores pelos campi da UNESPAR (2016)”, with Márcia Stentzeler, on the activities developed with students from the degree in Music at UNESPAR and public schools in the Paraná state, during the period she coordinated PIBID (2014-2017), an institutional programme for teacher training funded by Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). Between September 2017 and July 2018, she developed post-doctoral research on Revue Theatre and Radio in 78 rpm sound archives in Portugal and Brazil at the José Moças Collection of the Universidade de Aveiro.
