Biography
Andreia Carrinho began her academic training at the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto, having concluded a Degree in Sports and Physical Education and a Master Degree in Sports Management. In addition to her sports training, she attended the clarinet course at Conservatório de Música do Porto. Since 1997 she is a clarinettist in Philharmonic Bands. In 2017 she completed the degree in Music Education at Escola Superior de Educação do Porto. She taught music expression in the scope of curricular enrichment activities, as well as in day-care centres and kindergartens. Also, she took part in several artistic projects promoted by Casa da Música and developed projects with children as young as 3 years old, which emphasize creativity in the artistic fields of music, theatre and dance. She taught musical initiation and training at the cultural and recreational association Orfeão de Rio Tinto, where she also coordinated the Department of Musical and Instrumental Training, being a board member since 2012. Currently, she is a Fellow Research at CIPEM/INET- md Porto Polytechnic campus, within the framework of the strategic project UID/EAT/00472/2013, where she has collaborated since 2014 in the context of the scholarships for integration in scientific research and development – Santander Totta. She is also a researcher in the project “Women in Portuguese Philharmonic Bands” under the guidance of Dr. Graça Mota.
