Biography
With moving picture as a passion, João Valentim is a young film director. He holds a degree in Video and Documentary Cinema by Escola Superior de Tecnologias de Abrantes. He is fascinated by the ability to tell stories through images, transposing every day concepts to cinematic reality. He has worked as video-reporter in some film festivals in Europe like San Sebastian Film Fest, Tallin Black Nights or Karlovy Vary and has also been part of the technical team of the festival IndieLisboa and Fest-NDNF. More recently, he is directing and producing a documentary mini-series for the Academic Association of the University of Aveiro and is also a Research Technician fellow at INET-md, in Aveiro, working in projects related to traditional Portuguese music.
