Biography
Her first contact with music took place in 2009, at Conservatório Regional de Palmela, where she completed the conservatory 8th level in 2018.
In the same year, she started the bachelor’s degree in Musicology at Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, which she is currently finishing.
From February to June 2020, she was an intern at INET-md, working on Projeto Cante Alentejano and Enciclopédia de Música Portuguesa do Século XX, under the guidance of Salwa El-Shawan Castelo-Branco and Gonçalo Antunes de Oliveira.
In November of 2019, she participated in the IX Encontro de Investigação em Música (ENIM 2019) and, in December of the same year, in the international symposium “Musics in Africa: Listening to Mozambique”.
She is one of the coordinators of the Musicology students group (Cluster de Ciências Musicais), and is responsible for organizing conversation cycles, sessions and lectures with specialists from various areas related to Music and Musicology.
Her academic interests include musical practices of oral tradition, popular music and music in political contexts.
As a musician, she’s a violinist at the Orquestra Académica da Universidade de Lisboa (OAUL).
