Graduated in Physical Education and Sports (1994) and expert in body awareness (1999), he began the development of artistic works with people with disabilities with the creation of Roda Viva Cia. De Dança. With this company that was the first to reach the professionalization of people with disabilities in Brazil, it represented the country in the "I International Festival of Dance in Wheelchair" (Boston-USA).
In 1999, he began his Masters in Artistic Performance - Dance at the Human Motricity Faculty of the University (Lisbon). He concluded his Master's dissertation in 2002, releasing the concept of Inclusive Dance, used nowadays in different countries. This concept proposes an innovative and inclusive approach on the participation of people with and without disabilities in the artistic and cultural panorama. In that same year (2002) he supervised the creation of the company of Inclusive Dance, Cia. Experimental - Grupo Mão na Roda, in Diadema (São Paulo).
Currently, in the same University, in Lisbon, he continues to investigate, in the course of Doctorate in Human Motricity - Dance Specialty that he is studying, the concept he created.
In the year of 2000 he was invited by the Regional Directorate of Special Education and Rehabilitation of the Autonomous Region of Madeira to give a set of workshops on this topic. Such actions would later give rise to the emergence of the Pilot Project Dançando com a Diferença and later founded an Association of the same name.
As artistic director and choreographer, he was already at the forefront of projects in different areas, notably with the creation of Grotox (for Casa da Música, Porto) and ENDLESS (a European project for lifelong learning).
The approximation of important Brazilian and Portuguese choreographers to the reality of people with disabilities in artistic scenarios, happens through the works and intervention of Amoedo. They stand out Edson Claro, Luis Arrieta, Henrique Rodovalho, Clara Andermatt, Rui Horta, Paulo Ribeiro, Rui Lopes Graça, Tânia Carvalho, La Ribot, among others.
