Biography

She began her musical studies at Loulé Conservatory and at "Maria Campina" Regional Conservatory of Music in Faro. She graduated in Biology and worked as a researcher in Lisbon Faculty of Sciences between 2008 and 2010. Her interest in the recorder music and historical interpretation lead her to attend to numerous courses, masterclasses and international workshops. Such courses include Mateus Early Music Courses, Early Music Series of Loulé, Summer Courses of Caldas da Rainha, International Early Music Courses of Castelo Branco, Early Music Masterclasses at Évora University and at the National Conservatory of Lisbon. She has been a frequent participant in masterclasses with international recorder players like Bart Coen (Belgium) Bart Spanhove (Belgium), Dorothee Oberlinger (Germany), Bert Honig (Netherlands), Michael Form (Germany), Monika Mush (Germany), Lara Morris (Israel), among others. As a soloist, she colaborates with numerous ensembles and projects in Portugal, Spain and Italy, such as Divino Sospiro, Concerto Ibérico Baroque Orchestra, Santa Ceccilia Early Music Department (Rome), Contágio Barroco, La Spagna, Ensemble Allettamento and Flores de Música. In 2011 she was awarded with two 1st prizes: one for soloist and another for chamber music performance at the Young Early Music Performers Competition at Oeiras Early Music Festival. In 2014 she was awarded with an EEGrants support scholarship to start a partnership with norwegian recorder consort Blokkfløytistene Uranienborg of Svein Skotte. As a musician she participated in the CD recordings of "Vésperas da Beata Virgem" de João Lourenço Rebelo" with Flores de Música and also recorded her first solo CD "Johann E. Galliard Recorder Sonatas" with the early music ensemble Contágio Barroco. She completed her master degree in education in the Superior Music School of Lisbon and teaches early music at Covilhã Professional School of Arts. She is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in historical musical sciences in NOVA FCSH University, whose research focuses on the recorder sonatas of the german baroque composer Johann Ernst Galliard (Celle,1666/1687 - Londres, 1749).
