Biography

Bachelor in Sculpture in the Academy of Fine Arts of Milano (Italy) and master in Music Sciences in the Faculty of Letter and Philosophy of Statale University of Milano (Italy). At the moment she has a scholarship from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia – Ministerio da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior (FCT-MCTES) in PhD Program Music as Culture and Cognition, in the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of Nova University of Lisboa (FCSH-UNL). In Italy she was concerned about the influence of acoustic spaces and musical practices on mental and emotional states. She studied Northern Indian classical music and vocal techniques of mantras’ repetition. In Portugal she researched the relation between music and emotion in the domain of Sikh sacred music in Odivelas’ temple (Lisbon). For the PhD she inclines to investigate the role of rhythm in the experience of mystical state during Sikh sacred music performances in Punjab.
