Music, Radio and Diaspora: the construction of the identity (ies) of the Portuguese community in the Ille de France region
The project addresses the construction of the identity (ies) of the Portuguese community in the region of Ille de France based on the case study of Radio Alfa, in an ethnographic perspective of production. Despite focussing this media in a historical and present perspective, the key objective is to conduct fieldwork on Radio Alpha and the related cultural associations. Thus, through music and its representation on this media, I plan to address the identitary construction and production of the community based on the heterogeneous conceptions of "Portugueseness", the media uses that production, the relationship with the local community (associations) and with musical groups that are created on this community.
