Invited lecturer and Director of the Master in Music – MA - programme at the University of Aveiro. Researcher at the Institute of Ethnomusicology, Research Centre for Music and Dance (INET-MD). She holds a PhD in Ethnomusicology from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the Universidade Nova, Lisbon. Carried out archive and field research in Portugal, France and Switzerland, resulting in publications on: folklore and folklorization processes, music and migration, musical communities, choral singing movements, cultural industries. Recent publications include: Armando Leça e a Música Portuguesa (1910-1940), Folclore e Folclorização no Montijo: trânsitos e encontros da música e da dança (with Jorge Castro Ribeiro); Indústrias da música e arquivos sonoros em Portugal no século XX: práticas, contextos, patrimónios (editor with Manuel Deniz Silva); "O fado: Destinos e oportunidades do 'ser português'" (ed. Heloísa Valente); "Músicas, memórias e outras pertenças: ambivalências do real e da ficção em práticas e consumos musicais no século XXI (Rocha, Rose de Melo. Peres-Neto, Luiz (ed.s), (for coming). She has participated in various research projects developed by INET-md and funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Coordinated the project "Folklore and Folklorisation in Montijo", and - with Dr. Susana Sardo - co-directed the project MIMAR at the University of Aveiro. She coordenated of the research project 'Music in Between: choral singing in the context of orpheonism (1880-2012), financed by the FCT, and is preparing a critical edition of sound recordings made by Armando Leça during his 'Folklore Collections' in 1939-40.
