Biography

Marcia Ramos de Oliveira graduated in History from the University of Rio Grande do Sul, where she received her master's degree (1995) and doctorate in History (2002). In 2017, she developed a post doctoral research and was a visiting professor at the University of Aveiro (Portugal). She's currently an Adjunct Professor of the Department of History/UDESC, where she is a permanent professor in the Graduate Programs in History (FAED) and in Music (CEART). She is a member of the Research Group on Languages and Representation (CNPq/UDESC), Coordinator of the Image and Sound Laboratory (LIS/FAED/UDESC), Associate Researcher and Collaborating Professor at the Institute of Ethnomusicology – Center for Studies in Music and Dance (INET-md), University of Aveiro (DeCA-UA). She is a member of the Brazilian associations ANPUH, ABHO, MUSIMID and the Network of Public History, as well as of the international associations IASPM-LA, SAND, AHILA, and AIM. She has experience in the areas of History of Present Time, Cultural History involving approach to Historical Musicology and Ethnomusicology. Her production and research interests extend to different emphases, such as the participation of Carmen Miranda and Amalia Rodrigues in the cinema, Biography and song of Lupicinio Rodrigues, History of samba, Radio broadcasting, Audiovisual, History and Media, Digital platforms/sites and portals in the history area; mobilizing concepts/categories of analysis related to representation and orality, narrative and fiction, memory within the framework of History of Present Time.
