The expressive culture in the Portuguese-Spanish border: historical continuity and socio-cultural transformation processes, agents and repertoires in the construction of identities
2013 to 2019
Traditional music plays an important role in building local, regional and national identities. With this project we intend bestow visibility and intelligibility to the cross-border relations that occur in Alentejo / Extremadura / Andalusia. Within the dialectic of historical continuity and socio-cultural transformation processes, we question the musical practices of oral tradition and cultural heritage processes, involving the economic and political dimensions, focussing on individuals as social agents.
