The relationship of music with political resistance, clandestinity and social movements represents a field of study that has aroused a growing interest in researchers from different areas of the social and human sciences. In this course we intend to stimulate the ability to interrogate and debate the issues inherent to musical practices and repertoires as referents of the collective memory of groups inserted in processes of social transformation. The reflection focuses on the implications of musical production in societies, in order to discuss, under the backdrop of several authors, multiple approaches to the use of music in conflicts, social movements, political resistance to dictatorships and as heritage.
