The original score of the composer Armando Leça (1891-1977), purposely written for the Portuguese silent film "A Rosa do Adro" (1919) will be performed live by the Soloistas da Metropolitana, on October 24th (Casa das Artes, Oporto ) and October 26 (Cinemateca Portuguesa, Lisbon), in the centenary year of the premiere of this film. Armando Leça's score was reconstituted and adapted by a team of musicologists from NOVA FCSH, in the context of a research project of the Instituto de Etnomusicologia - Centro de Estudos em Música e Dança (INET-md).

Armando Leça's score for the film "A Rosa do Adro" is presented as a "stylization of songs and dances" of the Douro-Litoral, thus inserting itself in the project initiated by Invicta Film to build a "typically Portuguese" cinema . The reconstruction work of the score developed by INET-md was made from the only source found, a handwritten copy made in 1919 by José Gomes da Silva, musician of the GNR band, which is kept in the RDP's written music archive. This score, divided into five parts, corresponds to the original version of "A Rosa do Adro", which featured about 2,000 meters of film. Once transcribed and edited, the score was adapted to the only existing copy of the film, divided into four parts and significantly shorter (1,728 meters).

The film's digitization work, score reconstruction and live interpretation is the result of an institutional partnership between INET-md, the Cinemateca Portuguesa and the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa
