Abstract
The main objective of the research will be to understand, through Fado Bicha's personal and professional trajectories, how this LGBT duo acts in a heteronormative market such as that of Portuguese fado; how its public, largely composed of LGBTs and heterosexual cisgender women, consumes traditional fado, despite its patriarchal ideology; and how their trajectories and consumption relate to LGBT students in Brasília. The motivation for the research comes from the author's experience, initially as an art teacher in elementary and high schools in peripheral sites; followed by his performance as a guitar teacher and group practice at CEP Escola de Música de Brasília; and finally for being a great admirer of Portuguese culture, especially fado. Regarding the methodology, your doctoral research will be an ethnography of a case study, where the duo Fado Bicha and its consumers will be your objects of study. Alan Merriam's theory of the ten functions of music will serve as a guide for the work, where other theories, such as the sociology and anthropology of emotions, the method of song analysis proposed by Kofi Agawu, and the archetypal theory of Carl Gustav Jung, will also be used in an attempt to better explore each proposed function.
